Since 1990, as one of the pioneers of the non-diet approach to weight management in the Baltimore area, I have been assisting clients move away from dieting and disordered eating to healthful, intuitive eating.
Regaining weight after dieting is not your fault. Dieting leads to weight gain as well as overeating and other disordered eating. Intuitive eating empowers clients to rely on physical cues from their bodies as well as nutrition and medical information to make decisions about food choices. Healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and intuitive eating helps bodies move toward their natural weight.
Intuitive eating has also been shown to be very effective in the treatment of medical conditions such as diabetes, PCOS, cardiovascular disorders and gastrointestinal disorders. Parents can learn the most effective strategies to help children become healthy, intuitive eaters.
